Dane Wolfrom, Head Coach dane@metroaquatics.org Coach Dane manages the overall direction of Metro Parks Tacoma’s swim teams. His primary coaching duty is coordinating training for Sectional Group swimmers. Dane has coached swimming since 1992. As an age group coach, Dane worked with several nationally swimmers, including national top-four performers and internationally-ranked age group swimmers. More than thirty LSC records have been set by Coach Dane’s swimmers. He provides Metro Swimmers with strong technical direction and systematic aerobic base; both key elements to long-term success in swimming. Coach Dane has worked with several outside programs as a stroke consultant and clinician. In addition to several levels of swimming, Dane has coached collegiate cross country and track and field.. Dane is a Washington State native with a liberal arts degree from Hamilton College (Clinton, NY). As former partner and operations chairman of Beachmania Investment Group—a New York-based media group for professional sports—Dane and his group pioneered the use of real-time sports results for the Internet. In 1995, Dane founded his Internet solutions and consulting company, The Megaplex, based out of Clinton, New York. In 2001, Dane sold his business and worked for several years as an independent consultant. Dane is currently the publisher at the locally-headquartered quilt pattern company, JWD Publishing, LLC. Tor Gilje, Advanced Coach coachtor@metroaquatics.org Coach Tor graduated from Stadium High School in 1994,Western Washington University in 1997, and the University of Puget Sound in 1999, with a Master of Arts in Teaching. Coach Tor has coached swimming and or water polo for a number of local area high schools including: Clover Park, Gig harbor, Peninsula and Foss. He was also the Head Coach for University Place Aquatic Club. Jenna Nyren, Intermediate Coach coachjenna@metroaquatics.org Coach Jenna's grandma taught her to swim when she was 4 and she swam competitively until I was 17. She swam at State all four years at Lakes High School in Lakewood, where she graduated in 2006.
